As it works to reduce its dependency on Russian gas, the Netherlands, the EU’s fifth-largest economy, suddenly has one of the highest inflation in Dutch.
After reaching what was then a record-high 12 percent in August, inflation increased by 14.5 percent year over year in September.
The Netherlands Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) stated in a statement that the price development of energy was the primary cause of the increase in inflation.
